What You’ll Need:

  • Tea of your choice & a mug to brew it in
  • Water
  • A 32oz jar or similar large glass container
  • A towel
  • Large mixing bowl

For caffeinated teas to boost hair growth, black tea and green tea are perfect choices. For herbal teas for hair, check out this post.

How to Make the Tea Rinse:

  1. Brew 1-2 tea bags as normal in hot water
  2. Fill your large glass jar with water, leaving room at the top
  3. Add in the brewed tea, including the tea bags (at this point, you can add in other herbs for an extra boost! See the bonus tip below for ideas)
  4. Let it sit overnight (if short on time, you can omit this step and just use the cooled tea)
  5. When ready to use, remove the tea bags (and herbs, if you chose to add any)

1. With your head positioned over the large bowl, pour the tea rinse over your hair

2. Reuse the tea in the bowl as many times as needed to ensure you fully soak your entire scalp and hair, and massage it into your scalp

3. Gently squeeze out the excess tea and secure your hair in a bun or clip, wrapping a towel around your shoulders to catch any drips

4. Leave the tea rinse on your hair for 30 minutes, then rinse, condition, and style as you normally would!

TIPS:

  • You don’t have to shampoo after using the tea rinse. If your hair has product buildup, shampoo beforehand and use the rinse on damp hair
